Chiriqui - Boquete
NEW! Breaking Dawn Hike at Baru Volcano

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: Experience panoramic views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea from the Baru Volcano, the highest peak in Panama just south of the Continental Divide. Dozens of people attempt the climb daily, hoping to make it to the summit before the gorgeous sunrise shines above the clouds, to then light up the beautiful mountain town of Boquete.

To get started with this exhilarating adventure, your guide will pick you up around 23:00hrs at your hotel.  Enjoy a lovely drive uphill to the Baru Volcano National Park Ranger Station to start the challenging hike to Panama’s highest point. Depending on your physical condition, it will take you between 4 and 6 hours to reach the top. While hiking up the volcano you will encounter rolling green hills, lush jungle, and rocky cliffs.  The average annual temperatures vary between 20°C, at the Park Ranger Station, to under 10°C on the top of the volcano. If the weather conditions are good, on clear nights, one is able to see both oceans from the top of the volcano. Once in the summit, you will enjoy a hot beverage. In the early morning you will hike back down, this takes between 3 and 5 hours. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Transportation from/to main hotels in Boquete (mini-van or 4x4, as per clients’ selection. Please see prices listed above), English-speaking guide and entrance fees.
