AQUABUS IN PANAMA
Panama presents the new Aqua bus, an amphibian passenger bus that will be developing city tours by land and sea. The bus was made in the United States and has capacity for 46 people. This luxurious amphibus can drive on land and it can also operate in water, with the stability and power of full size boat.
The Aquabus will provide an adventure and an unforgettable experience for its passengers in Panama; this vehicle will start operations by next February 2012.
The aquabus Tour will include a bilingual guide on board, and will be operating from Tuesday to Sunday each week, departing at 10:30 a.m. or at 2:00 p.m. (depending on the tide conditions).At this time they are in the process for the authorizations before the Panamanian Maritime Authority.
The tour will have the following itinerary:
- The aquabus departs from Albrook Mall, Pasillo del Delfín
- It drives through the coastal line
- On the Yatch and Fishing Club ramp, it continues its Journey on water, sailing on a short ride where passengers will have an spectacular view of the bay and high skyscrapers of Balboa Avenue, Casco Antiguo and Ancon hill.
- The bus climbs the ramp to continue with the tour passing through Old Panama, Casco Viejo and Amador Causeway. The bus will again get on the ramp in Playita to navigate up to the breakwater. From there passenger will see the entrance of the Panama Canal, the Bridge of the Americas and the ships waiting their turn to cross the canal. It also passes close to the Administration building and ends the tour in Albrook Mall.
The itinerary may be subject to changes due to the weather conditions, traffic and tide.
