You will love it!
Day : 1 - Arrival in Panama City :
Upon arrival to Panama a representative of Panama Trails will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your city hotel for your first night in Panama.
Panama City is the capital and largest city in the country. It is home to a diverse blend of cultures and an enormous historical sector in the Old City. The lively and vibrant banking district on the other hand is very modern and often compared to Miami. Panama City is a thrilling location you will surely enjoy during your visit to this gorgeous country.
The DeVille Hotel is ideally located in the banking and business district of Panama City and close to many good restaurants for a nice dining experience in this cosmopolitan city.
Overnight at the DeVille hotel, Deluxe Room, breakfast included.
Day : 2 - Boquete Zipline Tour:
In the morning you will be picked up at your hotel for a short transfer to Panama City’s domestic airport. There you will board a propeller plane for a 50 minutes flight to David. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the mountain village of Boquete. After checking into your hotel – the Panamonte Inn & Spa – you will continue with a Zipline Tour in the misty cloud forests of the Chiriqui Highlands.
Glide through the treetops of century-old forests, high above the pristine rivers and waterfalls that make up the incredible collection of natural landscapes bordering the National Park La Amistad and the famous Baru volcano. Tarzan, 21st century! Who would have thought that a technology utilized hundreds of years ago by our indigenous people and later perfected by botanists and naturalists to observe and study the behaviors of wild creatures in their natural habitat, would be transformed into one of the most revered extreme sports. A harness, an ultra-resistant steel cable and gravity are the only elements necessary to suspend and propel the fearless rider in this incredible adrenaline rush.
For dinner we recommend you the award winning cuisine of your hotel. Chef and co-owner Charlie Collins is famous for his both international and indigenous culinary creations.
Overnight at the Panamonte Inn & Spa, Garden Terrace Room, breakfast included.
Day : 3 - White Water Rafting:
Today you will enjoy a full day white water rafting adventure. Depending on your experience and skills you can chose the best rafting section for you.
The Sabo section of the Chiriqui Viejo River is a fun ride where plenty of high and deep wave trains provide continuous excitement. Ranked as a class II with several class III rapids, the Sabo section is also a great place for bird watching. Kingfishers, Cormorants, and Egrets are common sights down the Sabo section of the Rio Chiriqui Viejo. This less technical section is great for beginners looking for excitement.
The Palon Section (literally "big stick") of Rio Chiriqui Viejo river is a class III and IV with non-stop excitement, pristine tropical forest, and more. Considerably narrower than its counterpart and dropping at a faster speed, the Viejo requires quick, tight maneuvering to get through the many rock gardens and enormous boulders and delivers continuous white water that contribute to its class IV ranking. This is a guaranteed ride of a lifetime for rafters seeking a thrill.
Overnight at the Panamonte Inn & Spa, Garden Terrace Room, breakfast included.
Day : 4 - Half Day Panama City Tour & Miraflores Locks:
In the morning you will be transferred to David airport for your flight back to Panama City. After arriving to Panama, your English speaking guide will pick you up and take you on a private tour to Panama City and the Miraflores Locks. You will start the tour with a 30 minutes drive to Miraflores to see the huge vessels passing the Panama Canal. The busiest hours are between 09:00 and 11:00, so you will be able to see many ships getting lifted or lowered 16 meters in two distinct steps. You will enjoy the view on the Locks from a sheltered terrace and listen to the explanations of your guide. To complete the visit of the Canal you will visit the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores which gives you a good idea on the construction of the Canal – a masterpiece of engineering. You will also learn about the history of the canal and its significance for Panama and the entire world trade as well as on the current expansion project.
After the visit to the Canal you will continue with your guide to the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean and offers magnificent views on the Canal on one side and on the skyline of Panama City on the other side. The tour continues to the Casco Viejo, Panama City’s colonial quarter. At the Casco Viejo you feel set back in time as you admire the lovely colonial houses, the narrow roads and the impressive churches. While visiting the highlights of this colonial district – the Cathedral, the golden Altar, French Plaza and the Huertas Passway – you will sure get an idea on Panama’s long and interesting history.
