About Bastimentos Island

Isla Bastimentos is the biggest island of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago and home of the national park that bears the same name. Various secluded lodges are set on different spots on Isla Bastimentos, all of them are located in midst of the exuberant and lush vegetation and offering a high degree of privacy. There is one small village with a few possibilities to eat out on the island. From Bastimentos it’s only a short boat ride to Isla Colón, the archipelago’s main island. Activities at Bastimentos include snorkeling, bird watching or just relaxing at one of the pristine white sand beaches.

How To Get There:

Air


Air Panama and Aeroperlas offer daily flights connecting Bocas with Panama City. The flight takes you about 1 hour. Aeroperlas also offer flights from David to Bocas, which takes you about 50minutes. Air Panama offers as well flights from San José, Costa Rica to Bocas three times a week.
Boat


On mainland Bocas take a water taxi to Changuinola. Bocas Marine & Tours has a regular boat service to Changuinola. The scenic boat ride is worth to see and will take you approximately 45 minutes.
To get to Isla Basitmentos from Bocas del Toro, just walk down to the beach and ask a boater to take you to Bastimentos. The ride will take you only a few minutes.
