Tucked away in a highland cloud forest, Los Quetzales Lodge & Spa is ideal for those longing to retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living. At 2200 meters above sea level the Preserve has the highest lodging facilities in the country and lies inside the primary rain forests of Volcan Baru national park. The climate varies from 24° C on a sunny day to 7° Celsius in the chilliest winter night. One thing about the ambiance which amazes many visitors is the absence of biting insects – no mosquitoes, no chiggers, not even a stray no-see-um. Fortunately the area also lacks venomous snake species.
