The feeling of passing by the Panama Canal is an experience that you will never forget. On this boat tour, before reaching Monkey Island, you will pass by the Panama Canal right beside the huge tankers and container ships.
The White-Face Capuchin and Howler Monkeys are the main attractions of this tour. Usually the Captain of your boat brings them some fruit so you can watch them coming down from their trees to get it. If you are attentive you will spot a sloth, always so lazy sleeping in their trees. You will see turtles, timid but brave at the same time, along with the proud caiman and crocodiles that live in the lake.
Then you will start a trek into the rainforest of the island that was used by the Americans during World War II. This moderately difficult hike will take you into dense jungle where you will have the opportunity to spot wild animals such as howler monkeys. Follow the footsteps of WWII soldiers passed the remains of historic war bunkers and equipment and hear stories from an expert tour guide about the adventures of training to survive in the jungle.
Please wear sneakers or hiking shoes, long pants and a hat and don't forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, binoculars and insect repellent.
